Combining Art, Nature, Science and Fun for Ages 3 to 12 in a Beautiful Natural Setting
The Arts Barn is excited to announce our 2017 Summer Camps for children ages 3 to 12! Camps run for 5 days from 9am – Noon for each age group, from June 5 through July 14 with two available weeks for ages 6 – 8 and ages 9 – 12.
The Arts Barn 2017 Kids Summer Camp is gearing up to be amazing! We have lined up guest presenters such as local legend and Schuylkill Conservation District Environment Educator “Porcupine Pat” McKinney and Chippy the Chipmunk. (See Kids having fun as they learn about nature with Porcupine Pat.) We have invited our furry, scaled, slimy and feathered friends. We have designed a variety of exciting artistic, education and DOWNRIGHT FUN activities. We are located in a beautiful natural setting where we have trails to hike, new friends to meet, ponds to explore and adventures to be had.
Your child will experience fun and learning in beautiful Schuylkill County, PA and enjoy: arts, crafts, music, playtime, snacks, nature walks and natural science.
Camp sessions are priced at $99 each. Payment is required to hold your child’s spot in the camp. NO REFUNDS two weeks prior to camp start date. 50% refund prior to that.

Summer Camp Ages 3 – 5, Into the Wild (5 days, 9am – Noon)
June 5 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
M – F, June 5 – 9, Into the Wild
This week our campers will be exploring the “Wilds” of The Arts Barn’s beautiful facilities. We will be learning about the animals, birds, trees and vegetation on our site. We will explore our forest and go on daily adventure walks, collecting samples to study and use in art projects. Porcupine Pat and Chippy the Chipmunk will be joining us this week.
Summer Camp Ages 6 – 8, Session 1: Survivor (5 days, 9am – Noon)

This week our campers will have a unique opportunity to gain the creative skills needed to survive in the Wilderness, with The Arts Barn twist. We will build shelters, identify edible and non-edible plants, and go over survival supplies. Porcupine Pat will join us this week and share his expertise in survivor skills.
Summer Camp Ages 6 – 8, Session 2: Music & Art (5 days, 9am – Noon)

Music and art join forces this week for our campers. Each camper will explore how these two genres interact by creating their own instruments using recycled materials and found objects. Each camper will create masterpieces inspired by different styles of music from around the world.
Summer Camp Ages 9 – 12, Session 1: Our Earth (5 days, 9am – Noon)
June 26 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
M – F, June 26 – 30, Our Earth
Campers will be learning how to reduce waste through Recycling and Up-cycling, while making creative works of art and helping our earth.
A few examples include: paper-making, jewelry, and tin can lanterns.
Summer Camp, Ages 9 – 12, Session 2: Endangered (5 days, 9am – Noon)
July 10 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
M – F, July 10 – 14, Endangered
This week our campers will be learning about endangered animals in PA and around the World. We will be joined by Porcupine Pat form the conservation center to share his expertise. Together we will discuss the causes of species and animal endangerment and how to reduce the loss and be advocates in our community to save them. We will make handcrafted masks, design posters, and explore the forest habitat at The Arts Barn.
